When you think of Philadelphia basketball there is a few people that come to mind. First is Dr. J second is Charles Barkley and the third of course is The Answer, Allen Iverson. We recently received an invite-only to a private reception to celebrate Allen Iverson for his time as a Philadelphia 76ers and to acknowledging the legendary career of one of the greatest players to ever do it.
The celebration took place at the world famous Mitchell & Ness Flagship Store, located in the heart of downtown Philadelphia. Mitchell & Ness known for producing vintage sports goods such as jerseys, jackets and hats for the last decade pulled no stops by throwing the biggest party of the year in his honor. The stage was set, the store was decked out with Allen Iverson product as the fans eagerly awaited the arrival of their superstar while shopping for Allen Iverson’s throwback jerseys.
Finally the moment we all have been anticipating was here, Allen Iverson arrived. As he hit the red carpet and the cameras started flashing, his wide, iconic smile said it all. Allen Iverson has made such an impression on so many people and that night he was takening it all in as he made his way through the crowd of fans giving hugs, they were so excited to greet and cheer him on.
Inside Allen Iverson took photos with fans and showed his new Reebok shoe to the crowd. That was the first time anybody saw the shoe in person. It was truly an epic evening and event and we would like to thank Mtichell & Ness for inviting us and letting us be a part of history.
Earlier this month Philadelphia 76ers honored the legacy of Allen Iverson by raising his iconic No 3 jersey to the rafters. To commemorate this moment, today Reebok released Iverson’s signature Questions with a few details to signal that night’s significance. The “Banner Questions” feature an upper that has blue suede, red jersey mesh and red leather on the collar. With gold accents, a fresh white color along the tongue, midsole and outsole and custom sock lining. Highlighting the attention to detail, Reebok is only releasing 1,996 pairs (an ode to the 1996 NBA draft class that brought Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Stephon Marbury and, of course, the overall No.1 pick, Iverson to the NBA) and now you can cop this limited release at select Shoe City stores for $160.
